Because our fundraising efforts did not completely cover all the hotel charges (taxes and service charges are sneaky like that) we are going to be offering up 70 extra raffle tickets at $10 a piece with a limit of one extra ticket per guest. These will be first come first serve at the event.
A party is a lot of fun to plan, but it seems sometimes the price of throwing it can get away from you. While I originally budgeted for four event sponsors I was only able to get two and a operations sponsor who has taken on a lion share of the work and put everything on their tab. So in order to make sure that we pay off the difference between what we have and what we need I am opening up a few more raffle tickets for people to purchase. If you are interested in knowing what this party costs to throw by all means have a look at my Open Ledger.
This party has been powered by "the rule of two feet", if you want something done.. do it. It have been amazing to see how quickly people have acted to get this going and it has been a real community effort to organize it. I would like to thank our sponsors Martha's Vineyard Fiber Farm, WEBS, and Tactile Travel; our organizers Alanna and Jess; our many wonderful prize donors and the people who have bought tickets. Your contributions and support are what make the knitting community so much fun...
ok... is it Saturday yet?
